Young Child Airlifted To Hospital After Near-Drowning In Bergen Backyard Pool A young child was airlifted to Hackensack University Medical Center after nearly drowning in a backyard pool in Mahwah late Wednesday afternoon. The boy, 3, was breathing on his own but unconscious when first responders arrived at the Wyckoff Avenue home near the Ramsey border. He regained consciousness, however, and was picked up by AirMed 1 at the nearby George Washington School field, witnesses said. No further information was immediately available.

Mahwah Parents Petition For Replacement Recent findings do not indicate that the rubber used to make tire mulch on playgrounds and crumbs on artificial turfs poses a risk to public health.  But a group of Mahwah parents says there are still chemicals in the mulch and better alternatives available. More than 538 signatures had been garnered on a Change.org petition launched by the group as of Sunday afternoon. Lodi Elementary Schoolers Return After Bomb Threat A Lodi elementary school was evacuated for nearly an hour and a half after someone phoned in a bomb threat Monday morning. The caller said he was "not so happy with" George Washington School and that there was a bomb inside, a law enforcement source told Daily Voice.
