A fugitive Ecuadoran national from Hackensack who was apprehended on Long Island was returned to New Jersey this week to face charges of raping a pre-teen. ICE placed a detainer on Jorge Luis Mora, 37, whom a local judge in Hackensack ordered held in the Bergen County Jail pending trial following his extradition Friday from New York. GOTCHA! A Clifton police sergeant rushing to the scene nabbed a bank robber as he fled, authorities said. Robert Fitzpatrick, 33, of Elizabeth was charged with robbing the Wells Fargo branch on Main Avenue near the Clifton Commons mall off Route 3 shortly after 9 a.m. Monday, Detective Sgt. U.S. Marshals Capture Fugitive Wanted In Sex Assault Of Union County Girl
A fugitive wanted in a 2018 Union County sexual assault of a child was found in Tennessee, authorities said Wednesday. Jose A. Donis, 53, was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Tuesday evening in the Whispering Hills neighborhood of Nashville, Acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo and Plainfield Police Director Lisa Burgess said. A fugitive murder suspect from South Carolina may have fled to New Jersey or New York, where he has family, authorities said. Jhonny Wolfran Quintano Vasquez, 23, stabbed and beat the 24-year-old victim to death over the weekend in Williamston, S.C., the Anderson County Sheriff's Department said.
