Heavy rain on Friday, Sept. 29 closed major roadways across New Jersey. Gov. Phil Murphy declared a State of Emergency in the late afternoon, as rain continued falling, leaving drivers trapped in flood waters across the state. Dunderhook Road at Paramus Road in Paramus remained closed due to flooding, leading the borough's Office of Emergency Management to urge an evacuation of the area late Friday afternoon. An approaching cold front will ignite a round of thunderstorms, some of which may be severe. A new storm system accompanied by locally heavy rain, gusty winds, frequent lightning, and possible flash flooding will sweep through the region before things heat up for the rest of the week. Authorities have released the names of four more people who died in the flash flooding in Bucks County on Sunday, July 16. They are: Enzo Depiero, a 78-year-old man from Newtown Susan Barnhart, a 53-year-old woman from Titusville, NJ Yuko Love, a 64-year-old woman from Newtown Linda Depiero, a 74-year-old woman from Newtown. Here's When Thunderstorms Expected To Sweep Region
Strong winds and tornados are possible in this afternoon's storm heading to the region, forecasters say. Heavy rain is expected to begin falling in the northwestern part of the New Jersey, and parts of Pennsylvania between 3 and 5 p.m., the National Weather Service said. The storm will begin elsewhere between 4 and 8 p.m. Large hail, flash flooding, and wind gusts up to 60 mph are likely. Western NJ is at an "enhanced" risk for strong storms while the eastern side is at a "slight" risk.

Tropical Storm Fred Expected To Bring Several Inches Of Rain, Flash Flooding To North Jersey
Remnants of Tropical Storm Fred is expected to bring three to five inches of rain to northwestern parts of New Jersey, meteorologists say. Flash flooding is possible in counties along the Delaware River, the National Weather Service reports. The rain is expected late Wednesday into Thursday morning, when the storm will make its way toward New England.
