𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: A 57-year-old former caseworker for the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency admitted collecting images of victims as young as toddlers being sexually abused, federal authorities said. UPDATE: It took federal authorities three tries over more than eight years, but they finally got to see the punishment fit the crimes when a judge sentenced a Morris County couple who severely abused their children to extended prison terms. ICE Detains Guatemalan National Jailed On Domestic Violence Charges Out Of PalPark
Federal authorities placed a detainer on a Guatemalan national living in Palisades Park after he was jailed on domestic violence charges. Cruz L. Baten, 32, was charged with simple assault and criminal mischief and sent to the Bergen County Jail on Tuesday, June 6, in connection with what Palisades Park police said was an alleged weekend incident on Highland Avenue. A retired New Jersey middle school teacher was busted by federal agents for trafficking child pornography. Robert H. Conrad, 73, of Roselle had an "ongoing sexually graphic conversation" over the course of three months with what turned out to be an undercover agent with the New Jersey Division of U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Attorney Philip R. A man who authorities said imported almost a ton of cocaine into the United States from Venezuela, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic was sentenced in federal court in Newark to a plea-bargained federal prison term of nearly 15 years, authorities said. A Mexican citizen who helped smuggle 300 grams of fentanyl into New Jersey was sentenced Tuesday to 64 months in prison, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Angel Santo Jerez Matos, 61, had previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute more than 40 grams of the drug, a synthetic opioid several times stronger than heroin. Federal agents on Thursday arrested a South Korean national from River Edge who they said didn’t admit having sex with a child when he applied for naturalization. Kyung Lim Park, a/k/a “Howard Kyung Lim Park,” 65, admitted in Superior Court in Hackensack in March 2016 that he had sex with the child at least three times. PATERSON, N.J. – FBI agents on Friday arrested a Paterson police officer who they said dealt heroin, crack and pot to a drug buyer working for the government -- sometimes directly from his patrol cruiser.
