Passerbys often do a double-take outside of Sophie Colle and Daveed Turek's Jersey City driveway. The husband and wife duo run Soda Deco, and convert and renovate vans to allow people live in them full time. The lovebirds and business partners do all their work right there in the driveway of their Fairmount Avenue home: Colle does the designs while Turek does the building. : One Dead In Jersey City Crash, Two Seriously Injured
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office and Jersey City police are conducting an investigation of a fatal crash involving multiple vehicles in Jersey City Friday. The prosecutor's office said one man is dead and two other people suffered serious injuries. The names of the victims were not released. The deceased man was identified later Friday as a 35-year-old Jersey City resident. Convicted Rapist Sentenced For Another Sexual Assault In Jersey City
A Jersey City man who broke into an apartment and sexually assaulted a 22-year-old woman at knifepoint while on parole for a similar crime he'd committed years earlier was sentenced Thursday to 51 years in prison, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement. Maquise Gilchrist, 33, was out of prison less than a year in August 2017 when he broke into the apartment on Fairmount Avenue -- the same street where he sexually assaulted a woman several years earlier.
