A 48-year-old Totowa man was killed after his car veered off Interstate 287 and overturned over the weekend, authorities said. The crash happened around 3:14 a.m. on the Exit 12 southbound ramp when the man’s Acura passenger car ran off the roadway and struck several trees before overturning on Sunday, Nov. 9, Sgt. Charles Marchan said. The driver died, Marchan said. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Golf Course Worker Finds Body In North Jersey, Prosecutor Says
A dead woman was found in Livingston on Tuesday, Oct. 7, authorities said. The woman's body was found at by a worker at Cedar Hill Golf Course, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II and Livingston Police Chief Gary Marshuetz said. The cause and manner of death are pending the results of an autopsy, authorities said. The identity of the woman has not been confirmed, authorities said. A man died after jumping from the Fire Island Lighthouse, police said. The incident happened around 1:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Robert Moses Field 5. A 911 caller reported seeing a man jump from the observation deck of the historic lighthouse, Suffolk County Police said.
