Firefighters Douse Rutherford Basement Blaze
Firefighters doused a smoky house blaze that began in the basement of a Rutherford home. No one was injured in the fire, which broke out in the two-story, two-family house on Springfield Avenue shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9. It was knocked down and brought under control within an hour, responders at the scene said. Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from East Rutherford and Wallington. Driver Climbs Out After Rollover Crash In Wayne
No serious injuries were reported in a rollover crash on New Year's Eve in Wayne. The 2020 Honda Accord apparently struck a decorative boulder on the side of Garside Avenue near Langdale Road and rolled shortly before 1:30 p.m. Wayne firefighters responded and the driver got out OK. UPDATE: Police investigating a bullet fired into a Haworth home are reviewing a video that shows two gunshots coming from a passing vehicle. Two vehicles that appear to be sedans had emerged from a side street onto Sunset Avenue near the White Beeches Golf and Country Club at 4:50 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Justin Fox said on Monday, Dec. 19.
