NJ Trucker Involved In Deadly Thruway Crash In Upstate NY, State Police Say
A New Jersey truck driver was involved in a fatal tractor-trailer crash on the New York State Thruway early Thursday morning, March 5, authorities said.
New York State Police responded at approximately 1:25 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 westbound near mile marker 243.7 in Westmoreland, Oneida County, according to investigators.
The preliminary investigation determined that a tractor-trailer operated by Ahmad Riyad Alomori, 42, of Barrington, was traveling westbound in the right lane while hauling an empty car carrier for A1 Truck Lines, police said.

A New Jersey mother has filed a wrongful death lawsuit after her 14-year-old son was killed in a collision with a vehicle while riding his bicycle earlier this year, court filings show.
The complaint, filed Tuesday, Oct. 14, by Lauren J. Colangelo, names the owner of the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle, the Borough of Woodland Park, and the County of Passaic as defendants in the death of Nicola Domenico Colangelo, who was killed on March 10 at the intersection of McBride Avenue and Rose Place.

Maywood PD: Fleeing Hackensack Driver Who Crashed Gets Assault, Eluding Charges, Dozen Tickets
A fleeing Hackensack driver crashed a luxury car during a Maywood police pursuit, injuring an off-duty officer, then tried to keep going before he was captured, authorities said.
Christian Valentin, 20, had two people with him when he drove his BMW M4 on the wrong side of the road while passing a vehicle that he’d been tailgating near Passaic Street and Maywood Avenue, Police Chief Terence Kenny said.
Seeing this, Detective Christopher Nichols tried to stop him, the chief said.
