Former Bloomingdale Firefighter Kevin Stalter Dies, 48
Kevin K. Stalter of Bloomingdale died May 8. He was 48 year old.
Born in Pompton Plains, Kevin was the owner and operator of Stalter Mechanical. He formerly worked as a Bloomingdale volunteer firefighter.
Kevin was predeceased by his father, Donald E. Stalter, and brother, Kurt Stalter.
He is survived by his mother, Stella Stalter, his fiancé, Tracie Marquart; siblings Donald Stalter Jr., Michelle Stalter and fiancé Scott Crum and Melissa Barnes and husband Edward; and his faithful companion, Philo.
Burial was at Mount Rest Cemetery in Butler.
Fair Lawn Police Captain Cracks Months-Old Cell Tower Battery Thefts
FAIR LAWN, N.J. – Thanks to a Fair Lawn police captain, one of two CVS shoplifters caught in the act was also charged with swiping four cellphone tower batteries several months ago, authorities said.
Hawthorne couple Michael Wright, 41, and Nicole Paletta, 36 -were carrying nearly $50 worth of items taken from the River Road pharmacy when police arrested them a short time later.
Paletta was released pending a court hearing.
Wright, however, was held, after Capt. Joseph Dawicki identified him as the burglar who took the batteries from a Saddle River Road tower last Dec. 19.

Wayne PD: Detective Busts Fugitive Shooting Heroin In Pickup Off Route 23
WAYNE, N.J. -- A Morris County fugitive was preparing to shoot heroin in a pickup truck off Route 23 when a Wayne police detective showed up, authorities said.
Detective Paul Kindler approached the black 2014 Toyota Tacoma in a remote area off the highway and saw Jason Devonmille, 36, of Kinnelon, opening a bag of the drug, Detective Capt. Laurence Martin said Wednesday.
Inside the truck were several used bags, along with 15 full ones, a tourniquet and a hypodermic needle, he said.
