Firearm In Tractor Trailer Driver's Cab Discharges In I-78 Fire
A 48-year-old tractor trailer driver from Connecticut is facing weapons offenses after his loaded handgun began discharging when his vehicle went up in flames Friday, Dec. 30 on Route 78, authorities said. The tractor trailer overturned in westbound lanes near milepost 27.1 in Bedminster around 3:50 p.m., and the vehicle became fully engulfed, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez said. Details Released In Hoboken Shooting
The gunman who shot a 20-year-old man Sunday, May 1 in Hoboken remained at large Monday, authorities said. The suspect got out of a car near 4th and Jackson Street just before midnight, striking the victim in the abdomen with a 45-caliber handgun, Police Detective Lt. Danilo Cabrera said. Police Officers Kyle Seper, Jonathan Figueroa, and Aaron Font responded to the victim and rendered aid, along with the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corp. Surveillance video shows a 19-year-old Newark man waving children and others out of the way at a city housing project before pulling a gun from his waistband and shooting two people, federal authorities said.
