Adult Player Slashed By Fort Lee Teen In Paramus Pickup Basketball Game
A 16-year-old Fort Lee boy was seized by Paramus police after he slashed a 23-year-old man across the face with a knife during a fight over a pickup basketball game at a Route 4 gym, authorities said. The teen and his friends fled in a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon after he pulled a multi-use tool and slashed the Bloomfield man with a knife blade at the 24 Hour Fitness shortly before 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 11, Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said. 24 Hour Fitness will be closing seven gyms across North Jersey amid the coronavirus pandemic. The company in a statement Monday said it filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will be closing 130 locations across the U.S. Among them are ones in Jersey City, Hasbrouck Heights, Piscataway, Saddle Brook, Wayne, Whippany and Woodbrige.
