Former Dean Kate Drumgoole, 33 of Bogota, filed a lawsuit against the high school, NorthJersey.com says.
School attorney Christopher Westrick, President James P. Vail and the Archdiocese of Newark on Friday presented their case to throw out the lawsuit before Superior Court Judge Lisa Perez Friscia.
Meanwhile, hundreds of Paramus Catholic alumni expressed outrage in a letter to school administrators.
"We are grateful for everyone's support," Drumgoole and her wife, Jaclyn Vanore, told Daily Voice.
Alumni, on the other hand, are disappointed in their school.
"By your decision, you perpetuate misinformed hate against individuals on the basis of their gender and sexuality," the letter says.
"From your position of power and privilege, you deny lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer students a psychologically safe learning environment."
