Read Across America Celebration At Paramus' Parkway Elementary

PARAMUS, N.J. – Parkway Elementary is having a daylong Read Across America event Friday with a “Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds”-themed day starting at 9:05 a.m.

The opening ceremony will take place from 9:05-9:15 a.m., during which children will sing songs about Dr. Seuss and healthy hearts.

The PTA will donate yoga mats and desk cycles for the students to use in the “Powerhouse Reading Gym Room,” where the children will exercise their bodies while strengthening their reading muscles.

There also will be guest readers visiting each classroom to read to the students.

The National Education Association's Read Across America Day celebrates Dr. Seuss' birthday and the joys of reading.
