PARAMUS, NJ -- Pesticide spraying begins in Bergen County tomorrow, Sept. 30, and continues through the end of October, officials announced. The New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station NJAES has allowed SCOURGE, which contains Resmethrin, to be used.
Upon most requests, the Paramus-based Bergen County Mosquito Control Division may notify residents 12 hours prior to the application, unless there is a quarantine or disease control situation that may call for faster action. Residents can help by eliminating standing water and other breeding grounds for disease-carrying insects, they said.
