Woman killed in hit-and-run neighbor to men charged in rapper’s murder

EXCLUSIVE: In what is either an odd coincidence or a bizarre plot twist, a woman struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Teaneck is from the same neighborhood where the man accused of murdering rapper Kampane once lived — and barely a block from one of an alleged accomplice’s house, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.

“We don’t think there’s any connection,”  a law enforcement source with direct knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Investigators nonetheless remain open to any and all possibilities in the death of 48-year-old Tracey Brown, who was struck and killed a little after 11 o’clock Thursday night on Teaneck Road, a block north of the Route 4 on and off ramps.

They are actually looking for two drivers — the one who first hit Brown in the northbound lane as she crossed the street headed west and one who then ran over her.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli declined comment on Brown’s residence.

However, he asked citizens to keep an eye out for cars with front end damage, including damaged headlights, front end lamps, and/or indicator lights.

He also asked that anyone with information about the incident to contact his Fatal Accident Investigation Unit (201-226-5500) or the Teaneck Police Department (201-837-2600).

Brown moved to Englewood from Teaneck five years ago. She lived in a two-story, single-family ranch house near ex-con Randy K. Manning, charged with shooting the rapper Kampane in the head in a vacant Englewood house, torching the place, then removing the body the next day and leaving it in the rear cargo of the victim’s SUV on a quiet Paramus street.

Manning, who in recent years moved in with his girlfriend in Brooklyn, is being held on $2 million bail.

Another man from Brown’s neighborhood, Delroy Clarke, is charged with picking up Manning and spiriting him back to Brooklyn from Paramus. Clarke is being held on $50,000 bail, charged with hindering Manning’s apprehension.
