Tony Crowe, 24, and Makia Reed, 22, were “delivering heroin from Paterson into Bergen County towns,” Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.

Borough police pulled off an undercover deal that led to their arrests during a run, he said.

A judge ordered Crowe and Reed held in the Bergen County Jail on Thursday pending first appearances in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on drug possession charges with the intent to distribute them.

However, under New Jersey's new bail reform law, the processing judge released both without bail the following day, records show.

Grewal thanked Paramus police for their work.
