Joe Demarco said he doesn’t know why the man who Fox 2 Detroit identified as Charles Fitch of Canton, Mich., would go to such lengths to “blackmailing, defrauding and bullying me.”
Using the name “Ebayisajoke,” Demarco’s tormentor has created fake accounts and undercut genuine sellers, then not paid up. He’s also left nasty comments on their eBay pages, sabotaging their reputations.
He also has his own YouTube channel, in which he alters his voice to taunt his targets, wearing a Guy Fawkes mask favored by Occupy Wall Street protestors and other purported anarchists.
(Fawkes, an Englishman, tried to bomb the British Parliament in 1605. The mask most recently became popular after it was used in the film “V for Vendetta.”)
Demarco, who operates a popular Kinderkamack Road business, said that the thorn in his side has also posted altered photos of his head on others’ bodies online.
“In several of them he had me in graphic sexual positions ….,” he told Fox2. “He’s actually sick in the head.”
The report accuses Fitch of trying “to profit before from sketchy websites.” He’s also sold his prank phone calls online — in which his voice isn’t altered, it says.
A Fox2 “Hall of Shame” reporter hired private investigators to follow him for weeks, videotaping Fitch coming out of Walmart and CVS, among other locations, and making fun of the fact that he eats at Subway and goes to the movies alone.
Finally comes the confrontation interview:
“Chuck, I know it’s you buddy,” the reporter says, following Fitch with a microphone and two cameraman, as he walks through a parking lot. “Why do you go around harassing people online?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Fitch says, before getting into his truck and driving off.
Demarco has taken his case to Oradell police, the FBI and state officials.
There are serious questions, however, about whether what Fitch is doing is illegal.
