Three-car Garden State Parkway crash kills one, closes three lanes in Paramus

UPDATE: An elderly woman died in a crash involving three vehicles, all with senior driver, on the northbound Garden State Parkway in Paramus.

Details were preliminary, but New Jersey State Police confirmed the single fatality from the 1:40 p.m. crash Tuesday near milepost 163.5 near the Route 17 exit less than an hour later.

No other serious injuries have been reported in the crashes, which police said occurred when two different vehicles hit another driven by the woman, who police said was pulling off the shoulder onto the northbound Parkway.
