The girl was crossing Columbus Drive at 7:50 a.m.  as the driver turned left from southbound Cortlandt Place, the captain said.

Witnesses told police that sun glare may have played a role, causing visibility issues for the 49-year-old driver from Paramus, he said.

No summonses were issued.
