Nordstrom security alerted Officer David Bentancourt to the crew last Saturday, Deputy Police Chief Robert Guidetti said this afternoon.
Bentancourt spotted them in the mall lot getting into a Nissan Murano and was backed up by Officer Keith Bland, Guidetti said.
The group was carrying assorted bottles of fragrance from Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Armani, and Coco Channel, along with clothing from Burberry, worth a combined $2,738 the deputy chief said.
The officer also found a foil-lined bag designed to thwart theft alarms and the “Pink Monster” stun gun, he said.
All defendants were charged with possession of stolen property and burglary tools.
They were identified as:
Virginia Bland, 45, of Newark;
Ashley Davis, 18, of Newark;
Mariah Young, 20, of Newark;
Khalif McDaniels, 24, of Newark;
Elaine McDaniels, 48, of East Orange;
Hasonna Porter, 40, of Irvington (also charged with stun gun possession).
Bland, Porter and both McDaniels immediately posted $5,000 bail each and were released.
Young and Davis were later bailed out of the Bergen County Jail for the same amount, records show.
