Saddle Brook utility pole snaps, Market Street closed

ALERT: Market Street in Saddle Brook was expected to remained closed through today after a utility pole snapped before dawn this morning, strewing electrical wires across the roadway.

The street was closed in both directions between Westminister Place and Cover Street after the pole in front of Saddle Brook Liquors snapped around 5 a.m.

PSE&G crews were making repairs as police redirected traffic.

Compounding Bergen’s traffic woes, a tractor-trailer caught fire and closed Route 17 during this morning’s commute. READ MORE ….
