Officer Anthony Mordaga stopped a rented 2014 Dodge Charger on southbound Route 17 near Midland Avenue around 1 a.m. Wednesday for not properly maintaining a lane, Deputy Police Chief Robert Guidetti told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Mordaga smelled pot and spotted a clear plastic bag of the drug in the center console, Guidetti said.

Bryan Nelson, 29, of Providence, RI, was being held on $5,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with drug possession and money laundering.
