PARAMUS, N.J. -- A driver injured his arm Tuesday afternoon when his car slammed into the Vitamin Shoppe on Route 4 in Paramus, knocking a hole in the wall and sending products tumbling.

The four-door Hyundai veered off the westbound highway near Spring Valley Road and struck the building after a collision with another car.

Neither the other driver nor store employees were injured.

The injured driver refused ambulance transportation to a local hospital.

A building inspector was summoned to determine whether the store could be reopened before repairs were made.

The sedan was removed by flatbed tow truck.

Paramus police, EMS and the Rescue Squad chief responded.
