Akram Tadros, 43, an Egyptian national living in Lodi, was “physically and emotionally weak" during the attack in the Route 17 restaurant parking lot, Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Deepa Jacobs said.
“He forced her down, exposed his penis, and digitally penetrated her -- with force,” Jacobs told Superior Court Judge Christopher Kazlau in Hackensack. “He told her ‘You don’t get to tell me no’.”
Defense attorney Ron Bar-Nadav described his client as scared.
“He’s afraid to go to jail,” Bar-Nadav told the judge.
“He doesn’t look scared to me,” Kazlau responded. “He seems very calm in court here today.
“Do you have anything to say?” he asked Tadros.
“No,” Tadros replied.
“Not even that you’re sorry?” the judge asked.
“I’m sorry,” he said.
“Sorry for what?” the judge asked.
“For everything.”
“Perhaps you should be sorry first for what you did to her and to your own family,” Kazlau said. "By your own actions you have victimized a young woman, and now your family, including your children, will have to bear the consequences of your actions.”
Should Tadros not be deported after his release, he would remain on probation for three years and have to complete 100 hours of community service, the judge ordered.
