Officer Timothy Reed stopped 28-year-old Tyrell N. Brown of the Bronx behind the wheel of a speeding 2016 Dodge Charger on Route 4 around 1:15 a.m. last Sunday, Deputy Police Chief Robert Guidetti said.
After smelling marijuana, Reed arrested Brown and searched the car, Guidetti said.
Along with the cocaine, the officer found 10 pre-rolled marijuana blunts and a clear plastic bag containing 31 grams of “Moon Rock” -- marijuana that has been processed to contain more than 50% of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the main mind-altering ingredient found in the cannabis plant.
Brown was ordered held on $250,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with various drug offenses.
He also received several motor vehicle summonses -- for careless driving, being an unlicensed driver and having drugs in the car.
