Officers chased the suspect from the Saks on Fifth store in the Bergen Town Center to just behind the Poggenpohl Kitchen Design Studio on the highway's northbound side, then called for an ambulance.

"It was a drug-related episode," Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg told Daily Voice. "Medical personnel had to administer Narcan."

The suspect was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, he said.
