Judith Randazzo, 48, was captured on surveillance cameras reaching behind the counter at the Orange Lantern just before 12:30 in the morning on Aug. 28, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said Friday.

Detective Nicholas Luciano "worked tirelessly" to identify the thief, including posting images on social media, the chief said.

Then, on Nov. 22, a tipster identified Randazzo, he said.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant and entered it into the National Criminal Information Computer (NCIC) after having trouble finding Randazzo, Ehrenberg said.

A West New York police officer was writing Randazzo a ticket last week when a computer check turned up the Paramus warrant, he said.

Randazzo was released on $5,000 bail pending a hearing on theft charges.
