The girl, now 14, “recently disclosed to her mother with the help of a close friend” that she’d had “inappropriate sexual activity” with Frank O. Garcia, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this morning.

Paramus police notified his office, Molinelli said, and the girl “provided specific details” about what happened in an interview with investigators. The state Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) also was notified, the prosecutor said.

Garcia was being held on $300,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, with an arraignment set for next Wednesday after being arrested two days ago on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and child endangerment.
