“I stand strong I stand alone” were the last words Sherry Hull-Michel wrote to her Facebook friends Sunday night. “[Who’s] MAN enough to stand beside me?” Then, just before midnight, she hanged herself from the shower with a scarf.

DYFS officials quickly agreed that her two sons — Noah, whom Hull-Michel called “my soul,” and Taj, “my heart” — should remain in their godparents’ custody.

“I have four children. Now I have two more,” said the godfather, whose identity is being withheld by CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “I will love them like my own.

“You cannot imagine the pain that everyone is going through right now,” he added.

No one, it seems, can fathom why the model-like beauty, an intense Dallas Cowboys fan who suffered from MS, made such a choice. She was planning a move to Miami and seemed optimistic, said friend Jacqueline Puig.

On Saturday night, Puig’s son slept over with his best friend, Noah, she said. “On Sunday at around 2 [o’clock], I went to pick my son and stayed over for two hours,” Puig said. “She was so happy and full of hope…. I then took her to the local grocery store and [said] ‘Talk to you soon’.”

Sarah O’Connor, a producer for Power 105.1FM, was with Hull-Michel on Friday.

“We went to our favorite spot — PF Chang’s,” O’Connor wrote. “We ate, drank and laughed for hours.

“Sherry was very much full of life and happy — stressed, but happy. She called her boys at least every 15-30 mins to check on them and spoke about them all night,” O’Connor added. “Something happened between Sat and Sun and I will forever be confused because I don’t know what that something was. I just didnt see the degree of pain she must have been feeling to end it all.”

To judge what Hull-Michel did would be cruel and unfair, loved ones, friends and associates all agreed.

Those who knew her said Hull-Michel, whose great-grandfather came from Curacao, was very public, always at the boys’ Pop Warner football games in North Bergen, always interested in their studies and activities. She also had an extremely playful side, dressing up in headscarves and leather wristlets.

“I’m from Verdun,” she wrote on Facebook two years ago, “so yah I’m a rocker chick.”

Hours before her death, Rose Cardone said, she chatted on the phone with Hull-Michel about Taj being accepted to St. Peter’s Prep, an upcoming business trip to Florida — as well as Taj’s birthday this week.

“I have thought over the conversation over & over to see if I missed something,” Cardone wrote in an open posting to Hull-Michel, “but you were CHEERFUL Sherry as always — who only knew you had such pain buried deep?”
