Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Kristin DeMarco told a judge in Hackensack on Monday that she's had “no response” to an offer made weeks ago to the lawyer for Joseph Llull.
Defense attorney Kevin Corriston contends his client, Llull, has an alibi for at least one of the charges against him, contending that he was not in the area “for virtually the entire month” of the period when authorities allege the crimes occurred.
“Do not tell anyone about this or else,” one of the indictments accuses him of saying to a 15-year-old boy as he gave him oral sex. It also says he threatened the child in mid-summer 2014. He's also charged with sexually assaulting a girl "through the use of physical force or coercion."
Superior Court Judge James J. Guida told Llull to return in a few weeks and be sure to “make a counter-offer before I set a trial date.”
“We have had conversations, but most of them have been consumed with the investigation into the alibi claim,” noted DeMarco, the prosecutor.
