Wilton Malta-Maria didn’t speak English, so he used his companion, Rafael Ramos, to translate, the prosecutor said.

Molinelli said Malta-Maria then pulled out 47 bricks of heroin – which, if broken down, produce about 2,350 bags. Detectives then moved in.

Ramos, 46, was carrying 32 bags that investigators believe were for his personal use, courtesy of his work for Malta-Maria.

Malta-Maria, 35, is being held on $100,000 bail at the Bergen County Jail, charged with heroin distribution. Ramos, meanwhile, was released on possession charges.

Both live on the same block of Sherman Avenue in the Bronx, records show.
