Florida man, 61, had sex with Englewood girl beginning when she was 9, authorities charge

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Englewood arrested a local man in Lakeland, Florida who they said moved there after having sex with an Englewood girl for two years, beginning when she was 9 years old.

The victim’s father recently discovered Internet communications between girl, who is now 15, and 61-year-old Victor Scott, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon.

After being contacted by the father, members of Molinelli’s Special Victims Unit and Englewood police interviewed the girl at his office in Paramus, the prosecutor said.

She “provided specific details regarding what had occurred,” he said.

Investigators contacted the Polk County Sheriff’s Department in Florida, which assisted in yesterday’s arrest, Molinelli said.

Scott, who is single and unemployed, was being held pending extradition to face charges in New Jersey of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and child endangerment.
