Paramus-based CBS is conducting the drive, which runs from 3:30 – 8 p.m. THURSDAY at Borough Hall.
The drive is jointly sponsored by the Fairview mayor and council, the police and fire departments, the Board of Education and the Chamber of Commerce.
They are specifically seeking anyone weighing over 110 pounds and in “general good health.” Be sure to bring signed identification.
Free non-fasting cholesterol and glucose screenings are available for every donation.
All blood types and products are in demand at this time of the year, including Type O negative, which can be transfused to patients with any blood type, especially in emergency situations.
Platelets for cancer patients and plasma for trauma victims also are needed.
“We still need continuous donations to meet the needs of the seriously ill patients in the more than 25 hospitals we serve,” said Ferridy, the CBS community affairs director. “Scheduling your donation appointment during December or January, or sponsoring a blood drive during these critical months, can really make a difference in someone’s life during the holidays.”
