Latrey Evans, 36, roared off in the black 2006 Infiniti G35 left running outside an Englewood convenience store on West Englewood Avenue last Sept. 1, knocking down the owner when he rushed out and opened the driver’s side door, authorities said at the time.
The owner dialed 911 and city police issued an alert for the vehicle.

Moments later, Paramus Police Officer Ryan Hayo saw the sedan heading south on the Garden State Parkway. The officer followed it while alerting New Jersey State Police, who pulled in behind the Infiniti and signaled for it to stop.
The 5-foot-7, 170-pound Evans took off, leading a brief pursuit before crashing near the NJSP Bloomfield barracks, authorities said. He tried to run but was quickly caught, they said.
Evans, a parolee from Irvington, has a deep criminal history, including a previous police chase and crash.
Records show a host of robbery and weapons offenses — seven of them felonies. Evans also was implicated in the 2003 holdup of eight people that led to the subsequent shooting and killing of two of them.
Six years ago, Evans led police on a chase through two Union County towns in a relative’s car before it crashed onto its side and caught fire following a vehicle burglary in Roselle Park, authorities said.
He remained held on $250,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.
