Patrick Levelle Davis, 41, of Nutley, was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, two of child endangerment and one of threatening to kill the victim after Englewood police arrested him at his home over the weekend, with assistance from their Nutley colleagues.
The 29-year-old victim came to Englewood police headquarters with a black eye late Friday and told detectives of a pair of incidents — one in the parking lot of a Paramus tavern and the other in Englewood, Detective Capt. Tim Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
The couple had “met to talk about their ongoing problems,” Torell said.
Never before had he hit her, the woman told police, adding that she “agreed to meet him with hopes of working things out,” the captain said.
Englewood detectives notified their Paramus colleagues that they were charging Davis with the incident in their town under state domestic violence laws that allow them to do so, Torell noted.
The Division of Child Protection and Permanency was notified and could take its own action against him, the captain said.
