Driver Hospitalized After Car Hits Tree On GSP In Paramus

PARAMUS, N.J. -- A driver was hospitalized with injuries that State Police weren't life-threatening after his car hit a tree on the Garden State Parkway early Saturday evening.

A Nissan Rogue collided with a Honda Accord, sending it off the roadway at milepost 165.3 in Paramus at 5:45 p.m., Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice.

Members of the Paramus Rescue Squad extricated the Accord driver, who was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, Goez said.

Two lanes were initially shut down and then reopened at 7:18 p.m., the trooper said.

An investigation was continuing, he said.
