Members of the Englewood Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Ismael Chavez-Aguilar at the prosecutor’s office in Paramus today “after learning that he engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct” with the girl, Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
The Division of Youth and Family Services was also notified, the prosecutor said.
Chavez-Aguilar, who is single, is being held on $250,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated sexual assault — the equivalent of rape — as well as sexual assault and child endangerment.
An arraignment date has yet to be set.
