Car plows into Fireplace Restaurant on Route 17

ONLY ON THE PILOT: A car slammed into an exterior brick wall of The Fireplace Restaurant on Route 17 in Paramus tonight after the driver apparently failed to negotiate a turn.

The male driver of the Nissan Sentra sustained no apparent injuries — nor was anyone in the restaurant injured — in the 7:45 p.m. crash.

Paramus police and EMS responded.

Although the damage appeared minor, the car had to removed by flatbed tow truck.

The building sustained minor damage to the wall and an iron railing.
