Donald Dewitt, 65, of Warwick, N.Y., was being held on $300,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

“The victim’s sister discovered sexually explicit email correspondence between the victim and [Dewitt] and advised their mother of her findings,” Molinelli said.

“The victim’s mother then contacted her local police department, who notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit,” he said. “The victim’s mother and sister advised her that she needed to speak to law enforcement authorities about this information.”

During an interview with detectives at Molinelli’s Paramus office yesterday, the girl “provided specific details regarding what had occurred” between her and Dewitt, who is married, the prosecutor said.

“In addition, email correspondence between [the girl and Dewitt] was turned over to detectives and reviewed,” and he was arrested on charges of attempte sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and child endangerment, Molinelli said.
