Animal Waste Spills On Route 17 In Paramus

PARAMUS, N.J. -- Southbound Route 17 was backed up for miles this afternoon after a tractor-trailer hauling animal waste lost part of its load near Midland Avenue.

Borough police and firefighters responded, along with the state Department of Transportation.

Some motorists said they were grateful that temperatures weren't as high as last week.

"It still smelled like death," said Christina Vene. "All the Lysol in the world can't help that."
