William L. Chaplin, 84, Paramus Resident

PARAMUS, N.J. -- William L. Chaplin, of Paramus and formerly of Edison, died Monday, Jan. 4. He was 84.

Before retiring, he worked as a design engineer. He was a member of the Salaam Shriners in Livingston, Masonic Lodge #194 in Hackensack and a former member of the Paramus Congregational Church. He was a Navy veteran.

He was the husband of 44 years of Gretchen (nee Miller); father of Linda Landini and her husband Dennis of Newark, Del and William Chaplin of Edison; and grandfather of Carly Landini and her fiancé Taylor of Orlando, Fla. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Jan. 7 at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 S. Farview Ave., Paramus. 

A funeral service will be conducted at noon Thursday, Jan. 7 at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 North Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
