Salvatore Cacciato, 88, Of Paramus

PARAMUS, N.J. -- Salvatore Cacciato, of Paramus, died on Wednesday, Dec. 7. He was 88. 

Prior to retiring, he worked for Sun Chemical of Carlstadt, as a maintenance mechanic. Previously, he worked at Buitoni Pasta Company of South Hackensack. He was also a residential landlord at the apartment complex which he and his wife constructed. He was a member of the Fraternal Society of Canicatti, Sicilia, the Italian American Democratic Leadership Council, and the National Organization of Women. After his emigration to the United States in 1959, he sponsored each of his siblings in fulfillment of the American dream. 

He is survived by his wife, Francesca (Martino); children, Rosanna Cacciato-Pansolini and her husband Fabio, Lisa Cacciato-Dalgaard and her husband Chris and Sylvia Cacciato and her husband Dan Nabors; grandchildren, Cristina, Michael, Stephen, Gabriella, Luca and Nico; siblings, Maria Ferro, Giovanna Montanti and her husband Vincenzo, John Cacciato , Michael Cacciato and his wife Josephine, Jack Cacciato, and the late Sister Eleonora, S.C. and Giusepina Guagenti. 

The funeral will be on Monday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. at St. Francis R.C. Church, 50 Lodi Street, Hackensack, with burial following at Ascension Cemetery of Airmont. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 – 7 p.m.
