Reidar Sverre Amundsen, 90, Of River Edge

RIVER EDGE, N.J. -- Reidar Sverre Amundsen, 90, of River Edge, died Sept. 22. 

He was born April 26, 1926. 

He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in the 632nd Tank Destroyer Unit in the Philippines. He was employed as an auto and truck mechanic for 41 years with the Bergen Record. He was a Scout Master for Troop 95 in River Edge. He was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir and served in many other roles. 

He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret; and sister, Barbara Bozarth. 

He is survived by his children, David Amundsen and his wife Christine and Linnea Cecere and her husband Louis; and grandchildren, Louie, Matthew and Christianna. 

Visiting will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the William G. Basralian Funeral Home 559 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, 925 Fifth Ave., River Edge. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
