Nikki's peer has started a GoFundMe that had raised more than $5,200 as of Sunday afternoon.
"A Paramus Catholic senior who constantly kept a smile on her face even at the worst points while battling cancer," Caroline McGarry said.
"She has never once been alone in her tragic journey.
"Not a day will go by that she is not missed. She has touched so many people throughout her life on earth and there is not a doubt in my mind she will continue to do so."
Basketball coach Sean Pekarsky honored Minson in a Tweet:
