John S. Musarra Sr., 98, Paramus Resident

PARAMUS, N.J. -- John S. Musarra Sr., a Paramus resident and formerly of Teaneck, died Saturday, Jan. 9. He was 98.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post 170 in Rochelle Park.

Before retiring, Musarra owned Motor Par Sales, in Manhattan. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation Church in Paramus

Musarra is survived by his wife of 68 years, Consolina (nee Curcio); children Angela Mattiace and her husband John of Paramus, John Musarra Jr. of Closter, and James Musarra and his wife Liza of Paramus; grandchildren Sean and his fiancée Mary, Matthew and his wife Samantha, Ryan, Julie and Alyssa; and great-grandson Cole.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 S. Farview Ave., Paramus. The funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Visitation Church, 234 N. Farview Ave., Paramus. Entombment will be at the Garden of Memories in Washington Township.
