John R. Rolen, 83, Former Paramus Resident

PARAMUS, N.J. -- John R. Rolen, a resident of Pompano Beach, Fla. but formerly of Paramus, died Saturday, Dec. 26.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he also was a member of the VFW in Hackensack. Before retiring, Rolen worked for J.B. Eurell Construction Company.

He loved sculpting, painting and making jewelry.

Rolen is survived by children Margery Rolen, Linda Rolen-Hansen and her husband Jay of Clearwater, Fla., and John Rolen III and his wife Linda of Coconut Creek, Fla.; grandchildren Ashley, Jessica, Caitlin, Danielle and Gary; and grandchildren Reyna, Trent, Jackson, Angelus, Adrian, Jackson and Leanna.

Visiting hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 S. Farview Ave., Paramus. A funeral service will be conducted there at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
