James J. Sansevero Sr., 94, Of Paramus

PARAMUS, N.J. -- James J. Sansevero Sr., 94, of Paramus, died Sunday, Sept 4. He was 94.

Sansevero was a U.S. Navy veteran who served our country proudly during World War II. 

Before retiring, Sansevero worked for Ben Cooper Inc. as a production manager in Brooklyn. 

He was a very active parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation Church in Paramus and a member of The Holy Name Society. He also was a member of the Catholic War Vets Post #1710, the Senior Pioneers of Paramus and the Bergen Catholic High School Father's Club. 

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Debbie, Barbara, James J. Jr. and Mary; grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, Bryan, Elizabeth, Eric, James, Eoin and Anna; and great-grandchildren, Abigail, James and Maverick. 

He was predeceased by his six sisters. 

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home 113 S. Farview Ave., Paramus. There will be a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at the Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, 234 N. Farview Ave., Paramus. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
