The curfew is in accordance with a zero-tolerance policy for vandalism and destruction of private property, both said.

Paramus residents under 18 years old must be home by 10 p.m. on Oct. 30. There is no curfew on Halloween, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.

Oradell residents under 18 years old aren't allowed unaccompanied in a public place after 9 p.m. on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31, Oradell Police Dsgt William Wicker said.

River Edge officials have not established a curfew. The police department, however, is working with school officials to send a letter to parents asking them to have their children home at a reasonable hour, Mayor Sandy Moscaritolo said.
