Samantha Senack learned she was chosen to appear on a segment called “Made By Moms” on a Friday, and was flown to Chicago for the taping on Monday, she told Daily Voice.
“I recognized opportunity knocks when you least expect it and you better make the most of it, no excuses,” she said.
Senack, an Oakland native, was invited to talk about the Birdie Wedge, a product she invented after her baby daughter, Birdie, had trouble sleeping due to colds and ear infections. The wedge props up cribs for head elevation to alleviate congestion from colds, mitigate ear infections and aid in digestion from reflux.
Birdie also inspired her mom to create another product. When Senack wanted to help her daughter quit sucking her thumb, but not feel punished or embarrassed, she created Digit Tape. She describes the product as “like a Band-Aid, a sticker and a finger puppet all in one.”

Senack is happy to get more exposure for her products, and is thankful for her friends and family who have supported her journey to invent products to help kids and parents.
“I could not have gotten to this point without the support and encouragement of my family and friends who remind me daily that I’m doing great things for great people,” she said.
The episode will air Friday, May 12.
