On Sunday, Apollo was attacked at a dog park near the Morris County animal hospital where Glock works as a vet assistant.
His owners, three siblings, brought him in later that day and said their parents wanted to have him euthanized and were not willing to cover the medical expenses he'd need to heal.
"I said, 'Look, I know it's hard, but if you really love this dog you need to give him to someone who can offer him the care he needs,'" Glock, 21, told the kids.
"It's between wanting a dog and wanting this dog to be healthy and happy."
Glock was able to raise the more than $850 needed to cover Apollo's medical costs, and even got in contact with Blue Ridge Bull Terrier Rescue, who will soon be helping to find Apollo a fur-ever home.
In the mean time, Apollo is living with Glock and his four other dogs.
"Thinking he's going to find a perfect home for his needs makes me so excited because I know he deserves the best life he can get," Glock said, Apollo on his lap.
"He's a really sweet dog who I know will get a wonderful home."
